Backups fail in boring ways: the drive was full, the job stopped, nobody checked. The 3-2-1 rule protects you from most of them.
The rule
- 3 copies of your data: the original and two backups
- 2 different places: for example on site and in the cloud
- 1 copy offline or locked, so ransomware cannot change it
A backup you have never restored is a hope, not a plan. Elena, backup and recovery engineer
